PLEASE NOTE - This insurance provides coverage "in excess" of that which is available under your standard homeowners or farm insurance policies, and where a legal liability ahs been established (ie., you've been sued). In addition, NACMO pays for an insurance policy we are required have in order to hold rides in the National and State forests. Day members pay a fee to help offset this cost as well. This insurance covers NACMO and the ride manager as an organization, and is not related to the personal liability coverage. In other words, if your horse backs into a truck and dents a fender, contact your private insurance agent about your liability. If you get sued, follow the instructions at the end of this article. If you need more information, have your insurance agent or attorney read this information. DETAIL Benefit of NACMO Membership: $1,000,000 Excess Equine Personal Liability Insurance for NACMO membership NACMO has become an affiliated association of Saddle Partners of America. Saddle Partners of America was formed in 1999 by a group of equine enthusiasts who saw a need among horse owners for education about the legal issues that surround our mutual interest in horses. One of the greatest needs they have addressed in their organization is to provide liability insurance specifically for equine enthusiasts to cover activities that may be limited or excluded from their home or farm insurance policy. To meet the need, Saddle Partners joined with Equisure, Inc. to provide its members with access to insurance coverage specifically designed by equestrians, for equestrians. Each month, NACMO sends a report to Saddle Partners listing the name and address of members who have joined or renewed their membership in that month. From our membership dues, the club will pay the insurance premium for each membership to Saddle Partners.
